15th Installation Ceremony

The 15th Installation Ceremony of the Rotary Club of Kakarvitta took place on July 4, 2024, at the Hotel Mechi Crown, Mechinagar, Jhapa. The event was meticulously organized and followed a detailed schedule. The Master of Ceremony, Rtn. Sujan Pradhan, commenced by calling the dignitaries to the dais, including the Rotary President for 2024-25, Rtn. Dr. Anandraj Khanal, and the Chief Guest, District Governor of RID 3292, Rtn. Rajendra Man Sherchan and his spouse Rtn. Sarojani Sherchan., Council of Governors PDG Rtn. Basudev Golyan (Plan Lead TRF and Regional Coordinator), PDG Rtn. Sanjay Giri (District Coordinator), PDG Rtn. Jitendra Bahadur Rajbhandary (District Learning Facilitator), PDG Rtn. Santosh Prasad Rijal (Assistant Regional Coordinator), Assistant Governor Rtn. Binod Basnet among others. Guests of honor were recognized, including notable members from the Koshi Province Assembly Rtn. Gopal Tamang. Following the formal introductions, the President Elect of the Rotary Club of Kakarvitta, Rtn. Uday Kumar Shrestha, delivered the welcome address. The program officially began with the inauguration of the theme banner, followed by the national anthem and the Rotary song. The core of the event was the Rotary Installation Ceremony, where the outgoing president, Rtn. Er. Rudra Mainalee, handed over the charter certificate, president collar, gavel, and gong to the incoming president, Rtn. Dr. Anandraj Khanal, who also took an oath administered by the Chief Guest. Dr. Khanal then presented his acceptance speech and outlined future plans, followed by the introduction and oath-taking of the new board members. A reflection on the past year by the Immediate Past President and a symbolic exchange of flower bouquets highlighted the continuity and camaraderie within the club. The honor program featured the National Training Commissioner of Nepal Scout, Bhuwan Subba which was conducted by Rtn. Bhagirath Rai. The Master of Ceremony, Rtn. Er. Jeewan Bhattarai, commenced the keynote addresses, delivered by several distinguished guests, emphasizing the Rotary theme and district initiatives. The ceremony concluded with the presentation of mementos, a toast proposal, and a vote of thanks by Vice President Rtn. Krishna Raj Poudel. Joint Club Assembly 2023-24

The Joint Club Assembly of the Rotary Club of Kakarvitta was held on 27th June 2024 at Hotel Grace, Kakarvitta. The event commenced with a welcoming session led by President Rtn. Er. Rudra Mainalee, President Elect Rtn. Dr. Anandraj Khanal, Assistant Governor (2023-24) Rtn. Sandeep Deepu Chapagain, and Assistant Governor (2024-25) Rtn. Binod Basnet. Following the welcoming, Sgt-At-Arms Rtn. Rita Shrestha performed the ceremonial garlanding of President Rtn. Er. Rudra Mainalee. The meeting was then officially called to order by President Rtn. Er. Rudra Mainalee, and the national anthem was played. Vice President Rtn. Krishna Raj Poudel delivered the welcome speech, after which President Rtn. Er. Rudra Mainalee reflected on the year 2023-24. Assistant Governor Rtn. Sandeep Deepu Chapagain provided his views on the past year. The session then saw the handover of responsibilities to the President Elect Rtn. Dr. Anandraj Khanal and Assistant Governor Rtn. Binod Basnet, who conducted the Club Assembly. Various chairs presented their plans of action for 2024-25, including Rtn. Bhagirath Rai for Club Administration, Rtn. Rabi Chandra Nepal for Membership, Rtn. Laxmi Devi Khaniya for Public Image, Rtn. Raju Maharjan for Service Projects, Rtn. Bivek Shrestha for The Rotary Foundation, Rtn. Robin Subedi for Youth Service, and Treasurer Rtn. Krishna Kanta Khaniya for Budgeting. President Elect Rtn. Dr. Anandraj Khanal then shared his vision for the Rotary Year 2024-25. The Assistant Governor for 2024-25, Rtn. Binod Basnet, also shared his perspectives. DG Visit 2023-24

The official visit of District Governor Rajendra Prasad Dhoju to the Rotary Club of Kakarvitta was a significant event, held on 26th September 2023 at Hotel Grace. Accompanied by District Secretary Durga Subedi and Assistant District Secretary Nikita Giri, DG Dhoju engaged in a series of productive meetings with the club’s leadership and members. The event commenced with a closed-door meeting with key club officials, including President Er. Rudra Mainalee, Secretary Bhagirath Rai, Treasurer Krishna Kanta Khaniya, President Elect Dr. Anandraj Khanal, and Immediate Past President Sujan Pradhan. This meeting focused on strategic discussions, financial reviews, and planning for future projects. Participated in Vibrant Club Workshop (Region-7) 2023-24

The Rotary Club of Kakarvitta actively participated in the Vibrant Club Workshop for Region-7, held on 23rd September 2023. The event took place at Hotel Nepalirika, Birat Chowk, Morang, and was hosted by the Rotary Club of Dharan along with all clubs of Region-7. The primary focus of the workshop was on strategies and practices to make a Rotary club vibrant and dynamic. Ceiling Fan Handover to Arniko Ma Vi, Mechinagar-7

On September 3rd, 2023, a delegation led by President Rtn. Er. Rudra Manialee from the Rotary Club of Kakarvitta, accompanied by Chief Guest Praladmani Oli, Chairman of Mechinagar Municipality Ward No. 7, and esteemed guests including Nirmal Adhikari, President of the School Management, convened to deliver a donation of 12 ceiling fans to Arniko Secondary School. The primary aim of this project was to improve the learning environment for the students of Arniko Secondary School by enhancing ventilation through the installation of ceiling fans. By providing increased comfort and airflow, the project sought to create an atmosphere conducive to quality education, benefiting both students and teachers alike. This initiative exemplifies the Rotary Club’s commitment to supporting educational institutions and fostering environments that promote learning and well-being. Eye Screening Camp @ Mechinagar Municipality – 4, Bahundangi

On August 12, 2023, the Rotary Club of Kakarvitta, in collaboration with the Rotaract Club of Kakarvitta and with technical support from Kakarvitta Eye Care Center, organized an Eye Screening Camp at the premises of Mechinagar Municipality Ward No. 4’s office under the leadership of President Rtn. Er. Rudra Manialee, with the presence of Chief Guest Gopal Tamang, a Member of the Provincial Assembly, and other distinguished guests, including Arjun Karki, Chairman of Mechinagar Municipality Ward No. 4. This initiative aimed to provide eye care services to the residents of Mechinagar Municipality Ward No. 4, particularly during the prevalence of conjunctivitis in the area. The primary objective of this project was to address the urgent need for eye care services in the community. The camp aimed to identify eye-related issues, provide immediate assistance, and raise awareness about eye health among the residents. A total of 187 individuals from Mechinagar Municipality Ward No. 4 benefitted from the camp. Among them, 45 individuals received power glasses, and essential medicines were distributed to 106 patients & 18 cataract patients were identified who later received free eye surgery at Kakarvitta Eye Care Center. Weekly Meeting with Guest Speaker, Dr. Birendra Kumar Yadav, Oncologist

The Rotary Club of Kakarvitta held its regular meeting on 6th August 2023 with guest speaker Dr. Birendra Kumar Yadav, Oncologist of Purbanchal Cancer Hospital. The meeting was chaired by President Rtn. Er. Rudra Mainalee. The meeting began with a welcome speech by President Elect Rtn. Dr. Anandraj Khanal. President Nominee Rtn. Udaya Kumar Shrestha introduced the guest speaker. Dr. Yadav then gave a presentation on the topic of cancer. He discussed the different types of cancer, the causes of cancer, and the treatment options available. He also spoke about the importance of early detection and prevention. After the presentation, there was a question-and-answer session. The members had the opportunity to ask Dr. Yadav about their own personal experiences with cancer or the experiences of their loved ones. Nutrition Program @ Mechinagar Ward 5

On July 31st, 2023, the Rotary Club of Kakarvitta organized a Nutrition Program as part of its Maternal Health & Child Care Focus Area initiative. The program, tailored specifically for children under 5 years old residing in Mechinagar Municipality Ward No. 5, was held at Bal Kalyan Secondary School in Mechinagar-5, Jhapa. This significant event was made possible through the generous collaboration with Mechi Provincial Hospital’s Nutrition Department. More than 50 children actively participated in the program, each receiving an SD Score identity card. These cards serve as a valuable resource for accessing further support and treatment through Mechi Provincial Hospital’s Nutrition Department. Alongside the distribution of SD Score identity cards, nutritious foods and fruits were provided to the children, ensuring their immediate nutritional needs were addressed. Moreover, parents attending the event received essential guidance on preparing wholesome and nutritious meals for their children at home. By empowering parents with knowledge and resources, the Rotary Club of Kakarvitta aims to foster long-term improvements in child nutrition and well-being within the community. Water Plant Handover to Mechi Janasadharan, Mechinagar Ward No 2

The Rotary Club of Kakarvitta ceremoniously presented a Water Plant to Mechi Janasadharan Secondary School located in Ward No. 2 of Mechinagar Municipality, Jhapa, Nepal, on July 1st, 2023. The event was graced by the presence of Dipak Baral, the esteemed President of the ward, along with the Chair of the School Administration. This initiative falls under the umbrella of the Water & Sanitation Focus Area, reflecting the club’s commitment to addressing crucial community needs. The Water Plant, comprising a Water Filtration Plant, Water Tank, and tap Stations, was meticulously installed with a budget exceeding NPR 3,00,000 (three lakhs only). This infrastructure upgrade promises to directly benefit over 500 students attending Mechi Janasadharan Secondary School. Through collaborative efforts and dedicated resources, the Rotary Club of Kakarvitta has successfully executed this project, contributing significantly to enhancing access to clean water and promoting sanitation standards within the school community.
