On the Program we had an interaction with President of Ward No. 6 Rtn. Lalit Bahadur Tamang about the Polio Status in Mechinagar Municipality Ward No.6 and the Chief Administrative Officer Mr. Ananta Prakash Wasti Rotary & Rotaract Club of Kakarvitta also handover the T-Shirt, Cap & Banner of “End Polio Now” & “Four Way Test” to both office. On 3rd October 2019, Rotary Club of Kakarvitta & Rotaract Club of Kakarvitta jointly distributed 35 Solar Lights & Sarees in the rural village of Guwal Basti, Mechinagar-15, Jhapa. This Village lies beyond Mechi River which is the Border River for Nepal & India for east Nepal, & has no access of road, bridges & electricity. Despite being a village of Nepal they are totally cutoff from the Nepal. We had to reach there crossing the Mechi River on two different places. Few months back Rotary Club of Kakarvitta had conducted a health camp on that place, where the villagers said that their children couldn’t read due to lack of electricity & still uses kerosene lamp. So the club decided to distribute Solar Lights to them & believe this will help the children of that village for the better education. On 27th Sep 2019, Rotary Club of Kakarvitta, Mechi Chamber of Commerce, Nepal Association of Tours & Travels Agent (Province-1) with the support of Rotaract Club of Kakarvitta organized Mini Marathon (6 Km) on the occasion of 40th World Tourism Day 2019, promoting “Visit Nepal 2020” where 100 participants from all over the Nepal Participated. Marathon was inaugurated by Mayor Rtn. Bimal Acharya & Deputy Mayor Mrs. Mina Pokhrel Uprety of Mechinagar Municipality from the Dhulabari & ended at Hanuman Mandir, Kakarvitta. On the Prize Distribution Ceremony, Winners were awarded in the presence of Honorable Minister of Forest, Tourism & Environment of Province-1 Mr. Jagdish Prasad Kushiyat, Member of Parliament of Province-1 Mr. Shree Prasad Mainali & Mr. Gopal Chandra Budhathoki, Mayor & Deputy Mayor.
